Kid Cudi


Kid Cudi released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in collaboration with New York street wear brand 10.Deep as a free download. The mixtape features a guest appearance from DC rapper Wale and caught the attention of Kanye West which spawned his signing to the GOOD Music Label.

In early September 2008, he performed at the 2008 VMAs along side Travis Barker and DJ AM. Kid Cudi is featured on Kanye West's 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak, singing with him on the track named "Welcome to Heartbreak", providing additional vocals on "Paranoid" and helping with songwriting on "Heartless". Even though it hasn't been released as a single yet, "Welcome to Heartbreak" managed to peak at number eighty-seven on the Pop 100 and a music video for the song has since come out.

Kid Cudi was featured in XXL magazine and BBCs featured on the longlist for the BBC News website's Sound of 2009 poll of up-and-coming acts. He has also been featured in Complex magazine, The Source magazine, and Rolling Stone magazine.

He is finishing up his debut album Man on the Moon: The Guardians for a Summer 2009 release.

On February 17, 2009 Kid Cudi made his TV debut on Snoop Dogg's new MTV talk show Dogg After Dark performing Day 'n' Nite at the end of the show. Two days later on February 19, 2009 Cudi appeared on BET's 106 & Park to debut the video of Day 'n' Nite with Kanye West.

Cudi is featured in Solange Knowles music video "T.O.N.Y"

In March 2009, Cudi announced a deal at Universal Motown where he will release his debut album Man on the Moon: The Guardians in Summer 2009.
